The 3 Types Of Self-Care For Mums
We hear it all the time...
I know that I need to be looking after myself…
I just don’t have the time…
I am too exhausted to do that extra work…
I can’t even think about anything else at the moment…
It’s the only time I get with my hubby!
Look I get it these are all real-life reasons that happen to many of us every week, if not every day!
The biggest misconception about self-care is that it has to be time-consuming and this HUGE deal otherwise it “won’t work”... 🤷🏻♀️
The reality is that there are 3 types of Self-care and when used in conjunction with one another that is where you get the “Zen as Fuck” feeling…
The 3 Types Of Self-Care
First, wanting some time to Self-Care isn’t weak and certainly doesn’t mean that you don’t love those around you… It's in fact the opposite, you want to be the best version!
There are 3 types of Self-Care and they should be used in conjunction with one another;
- Micro Me-Time - spontaneous throughout the day ranging from 1-15 minutes in length.
- Regular Panned - This is usually 1-2 times per week ranging from 30 - 90 minutes
- The special times - This is 1-3 times per 90 days and can go for 2 hours- the day.
So it doesn't have to be this huge thing!
Now there is also passive and practiced self-care.
Passive: means in short this is good lifestyle choices that we usually know that we should make and often don’t or only make some.
PS: I am definitely not saying ditch the ice-cream and chocolate (I know I don’t) but just moderation and balance with other good choices. 😉
Practiced: means in short the things that we have to consciously make an effort for or work toward.
So remember next time you are feeling a little overwhelmed or the kids are screaming…
Self-care really doesn’t have to be hard!
Most people… Particularly us busy mums forget about spontaneous and regular self-care!
But this is the most important type…
Without these, you can go get your hair or nails done maybe a massage even but then… POOF! Nothing for weeks!
Which let’s be real may as well be a lifetime in mum world… 😳
It can be quick and it can be very simple, easy, and TIME EFFICIENT…
